Single Family Housing Repair Loans and Grants

Also known as the Section 504 Home Repair program, this provides loans to very-low-income homeowners to repair, improve or modernize their homes or grants to elderly very-low-income homeowners to remove health and safety hazards.

Loans are limited to $20,000 or less. Grants are limited to $7,500 or less. Grant loan combinations are available for up to $27,500 if certain criteria are met.

Individuals apply directly to Rural Development State Offices.

This program provides housing loans and grants to help maintain existing housing stock.
