Description
Provides guaranteed loan financing and grant funding to agricultural producers and rural small businesses for renewable energy systems or to make energy efficiency improvements.
Check with Rural Development State Office to determine rolling REAP application deadlines.
Loan guarantee: $5,000 - $25 million loan amount. Renewable Energy System Grants: $2,500 - $500,000. Energy Efficiency Grants: $1,500 - $250,000. Loan guarantees on loans up to 75% of total eligible project costs. Grants for up to 25% of total eligible project costs. Combined grant and loan guarantee funding up to 75% of total eligible project costs.
Eligibility
Applicants have to be agricultural producers or rural small business. Tribally owned businesses and agricultural operations may be eligible.
Climate Change Component
Increasing energy efficiency and developing more renewable energy systems is cost effective and reduces the consumption of fuels that generate greenhouse gases, which contributes to climate change.
