Joel Larson, Acting Director

Joel Larson is the acting director for the Southeast Regional Climate Hub. He comes to the Hub from the USDA Climate Change Program Office, which coordinates the Department’s responses to climate change, focusing on implications for agriculture, forests, grazing lands, and rural communities.

Prior to joining USDA, Joel worked with the Bureau of Land Management, where he coordinated activities related to fish and wildlife, forestry, and grazing, among other natural resource management issues. He holds a Master of Public Policy degree from the University of Minnesota and a Bachelor of Arts degree in geography from Macalester College.
